Seward Sights

Today was a day of sightseeing.  Before lunch we stopped off at the Alaska Sealife Center.  The center is a great exhibition of sea life from the local waters, an aquatic zoo with live displays of seabirds, sea lion, harbor seals and many different fish.  We spent over two hours there and could easily have spent more.  Dave tried to befriend the 1700 lb Steller Sea Lion but the sea lion was smart and wouldn't cooperate.  The center is a must see if your visiting Seward.

Not far from the campground is a side trip to the Exit Glacier.  Only about an 8 mile drive and a 1 mile hike.  The drive was easy.  The first half mile of the hike is not too bad, but then it got a little strenuous for anyone that wasn't in very good shape.  I am not saying who is not in shape, but a 2.5 foot little kid left us in the dust.  Well that is just an expression since it was raining again.  Not hard, but just enough to keep the dust settled.

On the way back to the RV we stopped to check out a moose and her calf alongside the road.  Time to publish today’s entry, I think the sun is coming out and I wouldn't want to miss it.
