Just 120 miles up the road from
Denali is Fairbanks. Fairbanks is the
last good sized city that we will see for quite some time. We dropped the RV off at the shop to get it
serviced. It doesn't really seem like it
but we have traveled over 6,000 miles since leaving NC. The RV has performed admirably and deserved a
fill of fresh oil and a new filter.
While the RV was being serviced, we went
exploring a little in the Dodge. We
stopped by Pioneer Park, a collection of restored cabins and buildings from
historic Fairbanks. In the center of the
village is a large Sternwheeler riverboat.
Right next door to the park is the Alaskan Salmon Bake, an outdoor
restaurant that features all you can eat Prime Rib, Salmon, and beer battered
Cod with a salad bar and a dessert bar.
We decided to return for supper later.
