Victoria Island & Vancouver

The last two days have been breathtaking.  Its been a long time since I walked that much.  OH, and the sightseeing was pretty good as well.  Yesterday we took a ferry ride to Victoria Island.  Pulled right up and loaded with no waiting.  (they would even us up on the return trip)  It is about an hour ride to the island, much of it winding in between other islands.  Pictures cannot show how beautiful it was.

Victoria Island is home to Butchart Gardens.  More flowers than I have ever seen in one place.  Acres and acres.  Talk about stopping to smell the roses and just about every other flower smell we could think of.  Here are a few pictures to try and show everyone what it was like.

Today was Vancouver.  The Suspension bridge and Grouse Mountain.  The bridge and surrounding rainforest was spectacular.  A tree walk 60' feet up in some huge red cedars.  A walk along a cliff, and of course the bridge.  We had the misfortune to go across at the same time a bunch of high school boys were crossing.  This thing moved enough without their help and they thought it was fun.

Just up the road from the bridge is Grouse Mountain.  A gondola ride to the top produced some awesome views of Vancouver.  When we got to the top there was still quite a bit of snow on the ground.  Watched a lumberjack show and had lunch overlooking Vancouver.
