Yesterday and today we traversed the state of Washington. We left Spokane and the terrain almost made us feel like we were back in North Dakota. Lots of rolling hills and huge farms. About halfway across the state we started to see snow capped mountains in the distance.
Went up a long hill and around a curve, before us was a huge body of water. It was the Columbia. It was definitely a Kodak moment. Here are some pictures.

Today we made it to Canada. Getting through customs was a challenge. First the road we were on was so narrow I thought we may have to unhook the Dodge to not take down any of their barriers. But I was able to slowly inch my way up to the booth to talk to the officer. Somehow she decided we needed further inspection so we were sent to the "box". There a team of officers looked over our vehicles real close. Of course they didn't find anything and even let us take in our bananas. Anyway all is well and it only added about 30 minutes to the trip. We set up camp and headed off to see Vancouver. What a cosmopolitan city. Many high rise apartment buildings and people everywhere. Traffic was dense and we were just exploring. Tried to go to the Aquarium but it was too late so we just wandered around Stanley Park. Got some nice photos.
Being Father's Day Dave and I were to choose the place to eat this evening. Of course we didn't have a clue so we just started to head back to the campground and hoped that we would spot something. As we were going over a bridge we saw a place down by the water that looked like it might be worth checking out. Turns out it was a establishment in a district called Granville Island. Granville Island is like a combination Fisherman's Wharf, Charleston Market, and Key West. Lots of shops, bars, restaurants, and entertainment. Dinner was at "Bridges" a real good seafood place with tables right next to the water. We had a juvenile seagull begging food from us most of the meal. Got a few pictures. Tomorrow we will continue our sightseeing of Vancouver.
